MEDIA - The Growling Pain

Introduction & Background -

Centuries ago, people were introduced with a power, an opportunity to get updates on affairs, activities and traits of the world around them. The world started to recognize the power as medium of information spread out, hence naming it media.

Slowly but steadily media advances with the passage of time and new sources of information spread out were discovered. Starting from simple paper form, its journey continues to filmography. A point in time comes, when this pure source of social service was being converted into business & income generation. Big time investors started taking interest in using media as a source of income generation. Initially, people with learned minds came to the front and started projecting their culture to the world. Promoting their talents to the height of excellence, they eventually started digging the new ideas out, regardless of what it matters to somebody at perceiving end. It is then, it started losing its righteousness and it fell in the hands of strategists to develop business reforms for their own benefit and sake.

Media Today -

Today the journey of the media comes to the point, where multiple sources of information spread out are in use. Besides print & electronic media, people have now another category i.e; web/internet media commonly called as social media. Things are getting more & more advance, without boundaries giving limitless scope of information sharing to the people. People started sharing everything they found amusing & interesting. No matter, what impression it may have on the perceiving end, we are sharing every single bit of life on that media. Everybody has been given a right to express his thoughts and views, just as I am doing it right now. Whether its is one's love or aggression or whether its is one's amusement or sadness, its being shared on this media.

Effects and Some Questions -

It has both effects, positive as well as negative on the lives of many. The could be positive effect is freedom of speech and the could be negative effect is freedom of speech. The reason why I'm using "Freedom of Speech" for both effects is to pose some questions on sharing & discussion ethics of people, not to ban or restrict This Major Human Right.
  1. Do we care what an impression it could have?
  2. Did we just aroused hatred & agony or we have served the humanity with some facts?
  3. Did we just tried to impose our own views on somebody, regardless of his/her own views & beliefs? OR we have given them a chance to think over it?
  4. Did we tried to hide some true facts just to promote our own views?
  5. What would be the effect of our own approach on people of other different views and culture?
  6. Did we brought some good change or we have just ruined the centuries old "Golden Culture"?
  7. Did we just tried to ruin some religious' deity's (Prophet, Their Companion, Imam, Priest, Scholar or some Holy Place) respect to struck a war of hatred, racism and satanism?

Summary -

We might have gone through these questions before but, let us revise these questions and answer them with a little more social and ethical responsibility. The responsibility which is an eternal duty of mankind since its inception. Culture to culture, nation to nation it may differ according to their values, but universal law of social ethics are still there and needs an understanding. Understanding for socio-ethical reforms, for cultural rights protection and for societal harmonization.

It is all what we can summarize in one sentence as "Knowing Your Limits". A process which is a very need of our today's world to bring harmony, to stop cultural abduction and to create a universal society, where eternal law of respect, peace & love propogates.

Don't just start doing at once what you have read, instead let yourself think over it, do some brainstorming and let yourself be more contextual than just a researcher.

May we all be in Good Faith, Good Health and in Good Terms. Ameen Sumameen
